  1. Descripci\u00f3n de las facciones, naciones y mec\u00e1nicas<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    En este art\u00edculo os quiero presentar brevemente el juego ‘el Colapso’ con sus din\u00e1micas principales, que hace al juego \u00fanico y diferente durante el conflicto de la guerra de los 30 a\u00f1os (1618-1648), que editar\u00e1 NAC Wargames tanto en espa\u00f1ol como en ingl\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ‘El Colapso’ es un wargame principalmente estrat\u00e9gico, aunque presenta aspectos operacionales para describir el movimiento de tropas y Ej\u00e9rcitos y t\u00e1cticos para la resoluci\u00f3n de batallas mayores, y que en cualquiera de los tres sistemas (estrat\u00e9gico principalmente) he buscado exponer en el juego un claro reflejo de las situaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica y de c\u00f3mo fueron los movimientos y batallas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Las mec\u00e1nicas del juego son de punto a punto para 2 jugadores y un motor de cartas de mazo \u00fanico (CDG), donde los jugadores asumen el papel de una facci\u00f3n (cat\u00f3lica o protestante), que controla a varias naciones. En el caso del Cat\u00f3lico se controla a Espa\u00f1a, Austria y sus aliados imperiales y Baviera, y el Protestante a la Alianza Protestante (abstracci\u00f3n en el juego para describir a los estados protestantes del ‘Sacro Imperio Romano Germ\u00e1nico’ que se enfrentaron a los cat\u00f3licos, y las Provincias Unidas). Durante el juego existen tambi\u00e9n las denominadas ‘Naciones Vol\u00e1tiles’ para describir aquellas naciones que pueden variar su alianza en el juego (principalmente mediante el uso de la diplomacia, y que se registran en el ‘Track Diplom\u00e1tico’), y que entran en juego seg\u00fan su status en el ‘Track Diplom\u00e1tico’, y que son Hungr\u00eda, Inglaterra, Sajonia, Brandeburgo, el Papado, Dinamarca, Suecia y Francia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Aspectos \u00fanicos y diferentes del juego<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    ‘El Colapso’ permite de una manera ajustada hist\u00f3rica, utilizar las tan relevantes l\u00edneas de comunicaci\u00f3n del ‘Camino Espa\u00f1ol’ (desde Lombard\u00eda hasta Flandes, pasando a trav\u00e9s de Saboya, el Franco Condado, Alsacia y Lorena), y el ‘paso de la Valtellina’ (desde Lombard\u00eda pasando por territorio de la Confederaci\u00f3n Helv\u00e9tica hasta el sur del ‘Sacro Imperio Romano Germ\u00e1nico’).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Adem\u00e1s de estas l\u00edneas de comunicaci\u00f3n, el juego permite reproducir aspectos hist\u00f3ricos de una manera muy sencilla tan relevantes como los ‘corsarios de Dunkerque’ (que atacaron principalmente a los barcos mercantes de las Provincias Unidas en las costas de Flandes), el saqueo de las regiones (en el conflicto de la guerra de los 30 a\u00f1os se aliment\u00f3 y pag\u00f3 a las tropas principalmente mediante el saqueo de las ciudades y sus alrededores por donde pasaban las tropas), o el impacto de l\u00edderes hist\u00f3ricos (por citar algunos a Wallenstein, Tilly, Mansfeld, Thurn, Cristian IV de Dinamarca, Gustavo Adolfo II de Suecia, Torstensson, Horn, Cond\u00e9, Turenne, Sp\u00ednola, o el cardenal infante Fernando).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tambi\u00e9n cabe destacar que ‘El Colapso’ es un juego intenso y muy divertido, que es f\u00e1cil de jugar por su mec\u00e1nica principal (punto a punto) y ser un motor de cartas (CDG), pero con aspectos \u00fanicos como la fase de planificaci\u00f3n de inicio de turno, o los puntos de prestigio que otorgan m\u00e1s opciones a los jugadores (l\u00edderes, capacidades y mucho m\u00e1s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Duraci\u00f3n del juego<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    El juego tiene 10 turnos, con una duraci\u00f3n media de 50 minutos por turno (2-3 a\u00f1os) y una duraci\u00f3n de 5 horas para la campa\u00f1a completa, aunque cuenta con varios escenarios m\u00e1s cortos que incluyen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2022 2 turnos con la campa\u00f1a de Bohemia Palatinado que es la recomendada para jugar como primer escenario y que servir\u00e1 adem\u00e1s como ejemplo de juego, o la intervenci\u00f3n danesa
    \u2022 3 turnos el inicio del conflicto, o la marcha del cardenal Infante Fernando en 3 turnos (1634-1642)
    \u2022 4 turnos la intervenci\u00f3n francesa
    \u2022 5 turnos la intervenci\u00f3n de Suecia<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Con la regla opcional recomendada de que los jugadores puedan seguir un turno m\u00e1s con unos modificadores si quieren seguir jugando una vez se ha acabado el escenario y se est\u00e1n divirtiendo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Secuencia de juego<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    La secuencia de cada turno de juego se divide en 4 grandes fases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2022 Fase de planificaci\u00f3n: seg\u00fan el prestigio de cada facci\u00f3n varias acciones de las facciones podr\u00e1n tener m\u00e1s o menos opciones.
    \u2022 Fase campa\u00f1a: los jugadores alternan cartas de su mano (6 cartas por turno)
    \u2022 Fase de Elecci\u00f3n Imperial (solo en los turnos 1 y 7): sencilla fase donde se decide que jugador tiene el status de Emperador, con unos beneficios importantes en el juego
    \u2022 Fase Final: donde los jugadores usan sus puntos de reemplazo para fortalecer sus tropas y ej\u00e9rcitos, se determina posible desgaste de unidades fuera de sus regiones natales, se observan una posible expansi\u00f3n de revueltas, el impacto de los corsarios de Dunkerque, se redespliegan unidades para preparar el siguiente turno (campa\u00f1a) y se pueden ganar unos puntos de victoria extra por unas condiciones determinadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Las fases consideradas m\u00e1s administrativas como la fase de planificaci\u00f3n, elecci\u00f3n imperial y final tienen sus hojas de ayuda detalladas, para facilitar el desarrollo del juego y que los jugadores disfruten durante la fase de campa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Operaciones del juego<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Las diferentes Operaciones que pueden usar los jugadores con sus puntos de Operaciones son:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u2022 Despliegue (se reclutan nuevas Milicias)
    \u2022 Marcha (movimiento sin entrar en espacios enemigos)
    \u2022 Batalla (menor o mayor seg\u00fan decidan usar 1 o 3 puntos de Operaciones los jugadores, que seg\u00fan decidan los jugadores la opci\u00f3n que m\u00e1s les interesa tendr\u00e1 mucho mayor impacto en bajas, puntos de prestigio ganados, mejora de unidades y posible p\u00e9rdida de l\u00edderes en combate)
    \u2022 Diplomacia (influir en 9 alianzas)
    \u2022 Bloqueo Naval (solo el jugador protestante)
    \u2022 Asedios
    \u2022 Reemplazos (para usar al final de turno y fortalecer los ej\u00e9rcitos y tropas).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Factions description, nations and mechanics<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      In this article I want to briefly present the game ‘the Collapse’ with its main dynamics, which makes the game unique and different during the conflict of the 30 years war (1618-1648), which will be published by NAC Wargames both in Spanish as in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      ‘The Collapse’ is mainly an strategic wargame, although it presents operational aspects to describe the movement of troops and armies, and tactical for the resolution of major battles, and that in any of the three systems (mainly strategic) I have sought to expose in the game a clear reflection of the historical situation and how the movements and battles happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The game mechanics are 2-player point-to-point and a Card Driven Game (CDG), where players take on the role of a faction (Catholic or Protestant), which controls multiple nations. In the case of the Catholic, Spain, Austria and its imperial allies and Bavaria are controlled, and the Protestant is controlled by the Protestant Alliance (a game abstraction to present the Protestant states of the ‘Holy Roman Empire’ that clashed with the Catholics, and the United Provinces). During the game there are also the so-called ‘Volatile Nations’ to describe those nations that can shift their alliance in the game (mainly through the use of diplomacy, and which are recorded in the ‘Diplomatic Track’), that may enter the game according to their status in the ‘Diplomatic Track’, and that they are Hungary, England, Saxony, Brandenburg, the Papacy, Denmark, Sweden and France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2. What makes unique and different ‘The Collapse’<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      ‘The Collapse’ allows, in a historical accuracy way, reflects the use of the crucial communication lines of the ‘Spanish Riad’ (from Lombardy to Flanders, passing through Savoy, Franche-Comt\u00e9, Alsace and Lorraine), and the ‘ Valtellina Path’ (from Lombardy through territory of the Helvetic Confederation to the south of the ‘Holy Roman Empire’).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In addition to these lines of communication, the game allows you to reproduce historical aspects in a very simple way, as relevant as the ‘Dunkirk corsairs’ (who mainly attacked the merchant ships of the United Provinces in the the coast of Flanders), the ravage of the regions (in the conflict of the 30 years war the troops were fed and paid mainly by ravaging the cities and their areas through which the troops were moving), or the impact of historical leaders (to name a few Wallenstein, Tilly, Mansfeld, Thurn, Cristian IV of Denmark, Gustav Adolphus II of Sweden, Torstensson, Horn, Cond\u00e9, Turenne, Sp\u00ednola, or the Cardinal Infante Ferndinand).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      It should also be noted that ‘The Collapse’ is an intense and very fun game, which is easy to play due to its main mechanics (point to point) and being a card driven game (CDG), but with unique aspects such as the planning phase at the start of a turn, or the prestige points that give players more options (leaders, skills and much more).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      3. Game duration and Scenarios<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The game has 10 turns, with an average duration of 50 minutes per turn (2-3 years) and a duration of 5 hours for the complete campaign, although it has several shorter scenarios that includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u2022 2 turns with the Bohemia Palatinate campaign, which is the one recommended to play as the first scenario and which will also serve as an example of the game, or the Danish intervention
      \u2022 3 turns the start of the conflict, or the march of the cardinal Infante Ferdinand in 3 turns (1634-1642)
      \u2022 4 turns the French intervention
      \u2022 5 turns the intervention of Sweden<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      4. Sequence of Play<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

      The sequence of each game turn is divided into 4 main phases:<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Planning phase: depending on the prestige level (high, medium or low) of each faction, the factions may have more or less options to choose from (leaders, capabilities and much more).
      \u2022 Campaign phase: players alternate playing cards from their hand (6 cards per turn).
      \u2022 Imperial Election Phase (only on turns 1 and 7): a very simple phase where it is decided which player has the status of Emperor, which provides some important benefits in the game
      \u2022 Final Phase: the players use their replacement points to strengthen their troops and armies, determine possible attrition of units outside their home regions, observe a possible spread of revolts, the impact of the Dunkirk corsairs, redeploy units to prepare for the next turn (campaign), and earn some extra victory points if certain conditions are met.<\/p>\n

      The phases considered more administrative such as the planning, imperial election and final phases have their detailed player aid cards, to facilitate the game play and that the players enjoy during the campaign phase.<\/p>\n

      5. Game Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n

      The different Operations that players can use with their Operation points are:<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Deployment (new Militias are recruited)<\/p>\n

      \u2022 March (movement without entering cities with enemy units)<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Battle (minor or major) depending on whether the players decide to use 1 (minor battle) or 3 (major battle) Operations points, which depending on the players the option they are most interested in will have much greater impact on casualties, prestige points gained, unit upgrades, and possible loss of leaders in combat)<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Diplomacy (influence over 9 alliances, 8 nations plus the ‘Spanish Stability Track’)<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Naval Blockade (only for the protestant)<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Sieges<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Replacements (to use at end of turn and strengthen armies and troops)<\/p>\n
