1.  Introducci\u00f3n a la guerra de los 30 a\u00f1os<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Guerra de los Treinta A\u00f1os fue un conflicto del siglo XVII que se libr\u00f3 principalmente en Europa Central y lleg\u00f3 hasta Flandes y el norte de Italia. Sigue siendo una de las guerras m\u00e1s largas y brutales de la historia de la humanidad, con m\u00e1s de 8 millones de v\u00edctimas de las batallas militares, as\u00ed como de la hambruna, los estragos y las enfermedades resultantes del conflicto. La guerra dur\u00f3 de 1618 a 1648, comenzando como una lucha entre los estados cat\u00f3licos y protestantes que formaron el ‘Sacro Imperio Romano Germ\u00e1nico’. Sin embargo, a medida que evolucion\u00f3 la Guerra de los Treinta A\u00f1os, se convirti\u00f3 menos en religi\u00f3n y m\u00e1s en qui\u00e9n gobernar\u00eda Europa en \u00faltima instancia.     En 1609, en Munich (Baviera), se form\u00f3 la llamada \u201cLiga Cat\u00f3lica\u201d. El emperador Fernando II, junto con sus aliados imperiales y el apoyo espa\u00f1ol, intentaron expandir el catolicismo en el Imperio. As\u00ed, cuando comienza el conflicto en 1618, la Fracci\u00f3n Cat\u00f3lica es una coalici\u00f3n de algunas de las naciones cat\u00f3licas dentro del Imperio (principalmente Austria, Espa\u00f1a y Baviera).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Antes del inicio del conflicto en 1618, se formaron varias alianzas para apoyar la causa protestante, como la \u201cLiga de Torgau \u201d (1526), la Liga de Schmalkalden (1531) y la llamada \u201cUni\u00f3n protestante\u201d (1608- 1621). Por tanto, en 1618 ya exist\u00eda una causa com\u00fan para apoyar la religi\u00f3n protestante en el Imperio.       El mapa se centra en el antiguo \u201cSacro Imperio Romano Germ\u00e1nico\u201d (Imperio para abreviar) en Europa Central en 1618. La mayor\u00eda de los vecinos del Imperio que lucharon en la Guerra de los Treinta A\u00f1os tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n presentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Por motivos de dise\u00f1o, algunos territorios deb\u00edan agruparse en \u00abRegiones\u00bb para mantener un buen equilibrio entre la precisi\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica y la jugabilidad. Las regiones del juego no est\u00e1n organizadas como la estructura pol\u00edtica establecida en 1618 en el ‘Imperio’, sino como regiones con mayor relevancia hist\u00f3rica durante el conflicto representado en el juego, que como dise\u00f1ador del juego tom\u00e9 esa decisi\u00f3n para facilitar el desarrollo del juego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          En 1356, el emperador Carlos IV, a trav\u00e9s de la \u201cBula de Oro\u201d, otorg\u00f3 el estatus de Electorado a cuatro regiones (Palatinado, Bohemia, Sajonia y Brandeburgo) y tres ciudades (Tr\u00e9veris, Mag\u00fancia y Colonia). Esta decisi\u00f3n les dio a estas entidades una voz en la elecci\u00f3n de futuros emperadores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          En el juego, cada Electorado est\u00e1 representado por una Regi\u00f3n. Incluso las tres ciudades electorales mencionadas anteriormente son, de hecho, regiones de una ciudad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          4 Testeo de ‘El Colapso’ en Batalladores 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Entre los d\u00edas 4 y <\/sup>6 de noviembre de 2022 <\/sup>se celebrar\u00e1 en la ciudad de Zaragoza una gran convenci\u00f3n de wargaming con aproximadamente 200 personas y varios editores (espa\u00f1oles y extranjeros). All\u00ed he organizado varias partidas para presentar ‘The Collapse’ y continuar con el testeo del juego y su mec\u00e1nica, pero tambi\u00e9n el mapa y su ergonom\u00eda para asegurar que el testeo avance sin problemas y est\u00e9 listo a finales de noviembre para abrir el testeo a qui\u00e9n est\u00e9 interesado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1.  Introduction to the 30 years\u2019 war<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The Thirty Years\u2019 War was a 17th-century conflict fought primarily in Central Europe and reaching as far as the Flanders and Northern Italy. It remains one of the longest and most brutal wars in human history, with more than 8 million casualties from military battles as well as from the famine, ravaging and disease resulting from the conflict. The war lasted from 1618 to 1648, starting as a fight among the Catholic and Protestant States that formed the \u2018Holy German Roman Empire\u2019. However, as the Thirty Years\u2019 War evolved, it became less about religion and more about who would ultimately govern Europe. In the end, the conflict changed Europe\u2019s geopolitical face, the role of religion, and the place of nation-states in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          2. Factions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            In 1609, in Munich (Bavaria), the so-called \u201cCatholic League\u201d was formed. Emperor Ferdinand II, along with his imperial allies and Spanish support, tried to expand Catholicism in the Empire. Thus, when the conflict starts in 1618, the Catholic Faction is a coalition of some of the catholic nations within the Empire (mainly Austria, Spain and Bavaria).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Prior to the start of the conflict in 1618, several alliances were formed to support the Protestant cause, such as the \u201cLeague of Torgau\u201d (1526), the Schmalkalden League (1531) and the so-called \u201cProtestant Union\u201d (1608-1621). Therefore, in 1618, there already existed a common cause to support the Protestant religion in the Empire. The Protestant Faction includes the Nations that opposed Emperor Ferdinand II and his desire to expand Catholicism and establish a more centralized government in the Empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              3. The Regions and Electorates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              The map is centered on the former \u201cHoly German Roman Empire\u201d (Empire for short) in Central Europe in 1618. Most of the Empire neighbors who fought in the Thirty Years\u2019 War are also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                For design purposes, some territories had to be grouped into \u2018Regions\u2019 to keep a good balance between historical accuracy and gameplay. The game regions are organized not as the political structure established in 1618 in the \u2018Empire\u2019, but as regions with more historical relevance during the conflict depicted in the game, that as the game designer I took that decision for an easier game play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  In 1356, Emperor Charles IV, through the \u201cGolden Bull\u201d, granted an Electorate status to four regions (Palatinate, Bohemia, Saxony and Brandenburg) and three cities (Trier, Mainz and Cologne). This status gave these entities a voice in electing future Emperors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  In the game, each Electorate is represented by a Region. Even the three Electorate cities mentioned above are, in fact, one-City Regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  4. ‘The Collapse’ Playtest in Batalladores 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Between 4th<\/sup> and 6th<\/sup> November 2022 in the city of Zaragoza will be held a great wargaming convention with approximately 200 people and several publishers (Spanish and from abroad). There I have organized several game plays to present \u2018The Collapse\u2019 and continue with the playtest of the game and its mechanics, but also the map and its ergonomics to ensure that playtest progress smoothly and is ready at the end of November to open the playtest to those interested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
